As usual, my posts are pretty random. We're just a random family. One week we're at the Bristol Valley Theater taking in the arts, the next we're at the dirt track watching the modified races. And last week, we were at the Rochester ESL Air Show.

Last week was also a heatwave. The hottest weather since 1993. 96 degrees INSIDE our house kind of weather. But thanks to Mark and one of his customers we had special preview-day tickets to the Air Show. We braved the blistering sun and headed out to the Rochester Airport.

There were the typical planes on display. The biplanes, cargo planes, helicopters, and WWII-era planes. There were also parachutists and barnstormers practicing their routines.

And then there were the Blue Angels. I didn't think much of it when we went to the show. Yes, of course they're a popular attraction, and yes, they're big and fast. But I didn't understand the real attraction. Until I saw them.

They are unreal. Flying at 400 miles an hour with their wing tips 18-inches apart. Making loops, spins, dives... they were incredible. And being as close as we were to the air field we also got to see the incredible precision in which they operate on the ground.

J was too tired to stay for the whole time (starting to give up naps- oh no!) but it was well worth it while we were there.
