While we had grand plans to decorate Jacob's room in a jungle theme at the old house, the end result was pretty half-assed. We never got to the painting, the chair rail, or any of the cute touches.
But we did it in the new house! I did the painting while Mark was gone for the day (he doesn't like the idea of a pregnant woman inhaling the paint fumes, go figure). He did all the difficult work with the chair rail.
Measuring, cutting, and hanging chair rail is in itself a difficult task. But I also made Mark's job harder by insisting on putting wooden buttons every 12 inches. Oh yeah, and there was some beer and a very difficult to use miter saw involved. I'm not sure which is to blame for some of the wonky cuts, but there was plenty of caulk involved.
But it was worth it in the end! It turned out super cute!
Next it's on to the nursery, and a Peter Rabbit theme!
