It's been 3 years since we've been on vacation. We finally got the chance to go away this past weekend with a few friends to Upper Saranac Lake, NY. We rented a cottage on the lake (our idea of "roughing it" means the water is drawn directly from the lake) and enjoyed a few days of fishing, hiking, and eating a ton.
The boys did a lot of fishing during the day. Even J with his new pole and tackle box. In the evenings we made large meals and went to bed early (for the most part!)
Tewks is pregnant! So she enjoyed some yummy carrot sticks while the others played games reminiscent of college (I'm not sure what this game with the ping pong ball is, but it sure looks like fun!)
And of course being a "camping" trip we had to roast marshmallows!
It was nice to finally get away. But doing laundry for two adults and two kids upon return I could have done without!
