DON'T Think that the costume will look the same on you as it does on the store model.
DO Have a sense of humor. But DON'T make your kid attempt this humor in certain neighborhoods where this sort of thing might get his ass kicked.
DO have the appropriate body for the costume.
DON'T put your chubby kid in a costume and take pictures he's going to regret in 15 years.
DON'T dress up in drag unless you're going to put 100% effort into it. Women dressing like men= lame.
DO dress in drag if you live in Hollywood and know someone who can do your make-up. Men dressing like women = "A" for effort. Even if their costumes suck, don't you get a kick out of the fact that some 200 pound man is squishing his size 13 foot into a pair of 2-inch heels?
DON'T be that guy. Seriously.
