New Year's Eve has never been my favorite holiday. In fact, Mark claims that I haven't even been up when the ball has dropped in Times Square the past several years. He's most likely right, especially considering I've been pregnant or nursing every year of our marriage but the first.
So this year we were prepared to go all out. We had no less than four party invitations for the big night. But nothing goes according to plan, and our sitter (my mother), came down with the vile stomach bug.
So we started the night together at a kid-friendly party, and then took turns going out to houses in the neighborhood from bedtime on. That only gave each of us less than 2 hours to go out and enjoy the night, but that was more than enough.
And at the end of the night, I got my New Year's kiss. Which was promptly followed by bedtime at 12:01am.
2010 was an amazing year, and we're all looking forward to what the new year brings. Best wishes to all!
