Kenney Chesney Concert

Although we live in a more rural setting that most people in America realize (you say you're from New York and they automatically assume New York City), we aren't really country. At least not in the Alabama or South Carolina sense of the word.

We do have a popular country music station, and a lot of people drive pick-up trucks... but we're still not that country.

That is... until a country music star comes into town. Then all the cowboy boots and cowboy hats and Bud Light drinking rednecks come out of the woodwork. Myself included. Check out my boots:Yup. Wore 'em with a dress last night to the Kenny Chesney concert. Mark and I went with 15,000 other people to CMAC (aka FLPAC, aka "the shell") to see Chesney, Billy Currington and Uncle Kracker.

We don't get out much, so we started the night at the Inn on the Lake. From there we met Ellis & Sarah at the Lafayette Hotel where Mark's former sister-in-law was staying.

We made friends with the girls from Albany in the room next door, and Mark's customers from Rochester stopped by to hang out. From there we walked to FLCC for the show.

There were some interesting people in line. But at this point... the crowd was mostly sober. Or at least they weren't falling down drunk.
That came later as we stood on the slope of the hill in our "lawn seats." The lawn is usually a pretty great place to catch a show. But with 10,000 people on the lawn alone, it was standing room only... and there wasn't a place to stand. We ended up standing in front of the beer tent for most of the night. Very convenient for the boys. And very good vantage point to watch the drunken cowboys fall down the hill.
It's rare when Mark & I get a night out together. But when we do, we take advantage of every moment. Last night was a blast.
