It also makes going to lunch on a Sunday afternoon difficult some days. Like today. We were heading up to Victor, minding our own business, when my mother spotted three kids putting grafitti on a building in downtown Canandaigua.
Most people witnessing this would keep driving, maybe call 911, or possibly even stick around to tell the cops what they saw. Not my mother. She called 911 while my father did some fancy driving to chase the kids around and corner them up on top of a railroad overpass.
The cops arrived shortly after, and the officer climbed up after the kids... who promptly ran down the other side. (Losing a shoe in the process- hilarious!) The cop couldn't see them, but my mother did. So she jumped out of the car and ran after them.
She told them to stop, and they did. And got their butts put in handcuffs by the police.
(This is kind of what it looked like... or not. Because they were 16 or 17. And not nearly so tough. I mean how tough are you when you get chased down by a 50-year old woman in a lime green coat????)
Anyways- the punks were standing around when my mother received a call. She promptly answered it saying "probation." You should have seen the kid's expression. You could see the "oh, sh*t" as his eyes grew wide.
Yup, that's how they do it in Ontario County. They're really streamlining the whole process. Instead of going through that whole getting busted, going to court, and then getting assigned a probation officer thing, the PO's just bust you up front. Makes things easier. And now they've already had a proper introduction for later on when they get assigned to my take-no-crap mother.
That's my momma- one mean, lean, dressed in lime green, crime fighting machine!

Love that! Tell your mom she is the man. Or the women? What ever. She is awesome anyway. I have always wanted to be a probation officer. Ask her if NY is hiring any time soon. Thanks. Chad
